Anyone have any good spots they put tweeters on a 10-11 Forester? These will go in the front doors but I'm going crazy trying to decide which is the best spot. Any pictures would be very helpful as well.

Cheers!

The 2011 MY is pre-wired for tweeters. These wires are plugged into the sail panels (the little triangular plastic pieces in front of the windows). If you buy a factory approved tweeter kit, you will get new sail panels with the tweeters in them. All you have to do is to pry off the OEM sail panels, connect the wire and snap the assembly back on.

Be sure you have everything ready to go before you try this because there is a 50-50 chance that you will break the sail panels when you pry them off. These little suckers are connected to the door frame with a barbed steel clip and they can get stuck so there is no way a sail panel will come off in one piece.

Drilled? The original sail panels?

Got to see this.

I've just installed the factory tweeter kit. It was as easy as all the other members who have done it and posted their experience here. Yes, these tweeters do make a difference in the sound.

I did not break that center tab off the original panels so let's see your idea and I may do something similiar.

HAHA, no I didn't drill the original sails, I drilled the door. Like I said I will put up a whole post soon. Head Unit comes this week and I'll put that in over the long weekend. Got a lot of grading to do for my classes first...ugg
